Advice

  Auditions (singing)

Auditions can be a daunting prospect, even for the seasoned professional actor, actress, singer or model. Learning your script for acting audition or choosing what song to sing or what to wear for a modelling audition are always somewhere on the wannabes worry list. Dont panic, simply follow out 10 point acting singing and modelling audition guide.

1. Do a few relaxation exercises before you are required on the stage or auditorium. Most acting auditions take place in a small hall. Most singing auditions are on a small stage and modelling auditions are usually in a small room also. Take a few deep breaths and exhale slowly when you are called to calm yourself before proceeding into the audition room.

2. Walk gracefully and with confidence or stride across the room/stage with purpose, keep your head up and look where you are going.

3. Wear clothing that is comfortable and enhances your appearance. For acting audition, choose trainers and the same for singing auditions. Modelling auditions, wear what is normally in the brief.

4. Face forwards and look at  the audience/judges/examiners who will indicate when they want you to start and stop you when they have heard enough. Acting auditions will normally require you to read from a script. Singing auditions will have you singing a short piece usually acapella and modelling auditions will have you walking up and down.

5. When you are ready to start your acting singing or  odelling audition, say hello to the audition people and provide them with a brief introduction to the song you are about to perform or script you are to read and your name

6. Concentrate on the speech for acting and the music for singing and your performance. Do the best that you can do.

7. Don't fluster or stop if you make a mistake, continue as if nothing happened. Acting audition as well as singing and modelling auditions are always full of minor mistakes

9. Be Yourself

10  Enjoy and have fun
