Can
an agency charge me for finding work or registering me with them?
The
following is extracted from the DTI website
"A
fundamental principle of the Employment Agencies Act is that workers
cannot be charged for work finding services. The exceptions to this are
the entertainment and modelling sectors". DTI website updated April

Under
the revised law in April 2004, it is lawful to charge a reasonable fee
for inclusion into a directory which must be made available to
subscribers as proof that such a directory exists.

not an Employment Agency.
We set
out to provide opportunities to anyone who wants to become famous. We do
not set out to provide jobseekers with employment. We do not have any
details whatever, whether in written or electronic form, of any
jobseekers. Nor do we hold any details whatever, whether in written or
electronic form, of any job providers . We merely “pass on” publicly
available advertisements, containing non-employment opportunities. We do
not ask for, nor are we supplied, any details as to the present, past or
potential future registrants of any person that visits our website
We have
no idea whether a visitor to our website is an individual, a
corporation, a competitor or whatever. We have no idea if our
subscribers are located in the UK or abroad, either inside or outside
the EU. We have no interest in, or knowledge of, nor do we receive any
payment or commission for, any activities resulting from our “passing on
“opportunities. We never reveal, disclose, sell or rent our subscribers
